2022 Johannes Zillinger Velue Gruner Veltliner

Rich straw yellow in colour with bright, inviting clarity. The nose is delicate, polished and precise, offering yellow apple, yellow plum and a potpourri of fresh herbs alongside notes of hemp, yeast and a subtle suggestion of bark and lichen after spring rain. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lean, elegant and juicy, with a fine texture characterised by light tannins and a shimmering mineral thread. Absolutely typical of the Grüner Veltliner variety — open and inviting with a fine acid structure and a slight phenolic bite from minimal sulphur. The finish is defined by a pleasing saltiness and a subtle veil of yeast.
