2023 Viña Pérez Cruz Carmenere Maipo Valley, Chile

Intense deep purple with a ruby rim, clean and bright. The nose is expressive and fragrant; ripe black plum, blackberry and cassis are accented by dark chocolate, black pepper and the lifted herbal notes characteristic of the Carmenère variety. On the palate the wine is medium to full-bodied with velvety, supple tannins; fresh acidity provides excellent structure and balance, leading to a long, silky finish with lingering notes of spice and dark fruit.
